he Makapu'u Lighthouse is a navigational aid on the easternmost point of Oahu, Hawaii, located at the end of the scenic paved hiking trail. The trail is moderately easy but steep, exposed, and lacks shade, so visitors should bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. From the summit, hikers can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, nearby islands, and, during whale season, humpback whales.  Na Mokulua, also known as "The Mokes," are two volcanic islets off the coast of Lanikai, Oahu, that are a Hawaii State Seabird Sanctuary. Visitors can kayak to the larger island, Moku Nui, but the smaller island, Moku Iki, is off-limits to the public. The islands are a popular destination for kayaking, snorkeling, and wildlife viewing, but visitors must have a permit to land on Moku.
