About Kim

Aloha! And   안녕하세요" (annyeonghaseyo!)

I paint calm into everyday life...

There was a point where I realized my environment was affecting me more than I thought.  The noise, the pace, the constant mental movement ADHD/Perimenopause —it doesn’t just stay in your head… it lives in your space.  I started a journey of self care and self discovery. At the beginning COVID I was burnt out from online paint parties and posting free art for moms and at home school kids. I took a month off..... GAME CHANGER!  I started painting for myself. What felt good, how it calmed my nerves, brain and gave me focus. Not just to create something beautiful, but to create something that felt different to be around.

My work is inspired by island life, self discovery, and the emotional reset that comes from slowing down.  Each piece is built through layered color, controlled movement, and intentional space—designed to bring a sense of calm, warmth, and quiet energy into the room it lives in.  Because art isn’t just visual.  It changes how a space holds you. My art reflects how I feel while I'm painting. The act of painting my inspirations is my own personal therapy. Every change in my life I've painted.

As an artist, a mother, and someone who understands what it feels like to carry a full mind, I create from a place of wanting relief—wanting softness—wanting a moment to just breathe, my own sanctuary joy.

That’s what these pieces are meant to offer.

Over the years, my work has found its way into homes where it becomes part of daily life—morning light, quiet evenings, shared spaces.

Not as decoration, but as atmosphere.

If your space has ever felt like it needed something you couldn’t quite name…

     It might just be this.
