Diamond Head and the Outrigger Canoe Club share a significant historical connection. The club, established in 1908, initially operated in Waikiki, but 1964, it relocated to Diamond Head, establishing its new headquarters at the base of the volcanic crater. This move marked a new chapter for the club, which had been instrumental in reviving and popularizing outrigger canoeing in Hawaii.
