Tahitian huts, 6x 6" mini

Acrylic on 6X6" mini wood canvas and stained frame edges and resin face. 

The concept of building huts on stilts over water was not new to French Polynesia, as it mirrored the traditional fishing huts used by the local people.

These traditional huts, or "fares," built with materials like pandanus leaves and bamboo, provided shelter and easy access to the lagoon for fishing.
