I first painted them in 2022, still breathing Tahiti's air, carrying that light home with me. They have traveled with me through the years since, quietly holding that time in their layers. But we do not stay who we were, and neither do they.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMy hand has changed, my path has widened, and all the living I have done since that trip has settled into who I am now, the same way every version of ourselves shapes the one we become.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRather than tuck these canvases away, I chose to honor exactly where they began. I have returned to them, painting my present self directly over the past, letting what was, become part of what is, because the past does not disappear when we outgrow it, it simply becomes the foundation we build on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSome you can see the textured lines of the past through the present layers.
